4th National Insurance and Actuary Congress

4th National Insurance and Actuary Congress which has been held every two years since 2013 will be hosted by Middle East Technical University between June 24-25, 2019, where academicians, industry stakeholders, regulatory and supervisory agency experts meet to evaluate and discuss the latest research topics and needs in the field of insurance and actuary.
National Insurance and Actuary Congress (USAK) organized with the cooperation of T.R. Ministry of Treasury and Finance General Directorate and Insurance Auditing Board this year will be held by the METU Applied Mathematics Institute and Actuaries Association. Public authorities, academicians and sector representatives will meet on the same platform via this congress supported by more than 50 sponsors.
In the congress, Professor Dr. Jan Dhaene and Professor Prof. Dr. Burak Saltoğlu will be invited as a guest speaker and the Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance Ahmet Genç, METU Rector Mustafa Verşan Kök, Head of International Actuaries Association Gábor Hanák, Prof.Dr. Sevtap Kestel from METU Applied Mathematics Institute and Head of Actuaries Association Taylan Matkap will give their opening speeches. Poster competition will be organized for undergraduate and graduate students to ensure the participation of young talents to the Congress.
There are special sessions on International Financial Reporting Standard 17 (IFRS17), Catastrophic Risks, Machine Learning in Insurance, Digital Transformation in Insurance Sector, Legal Regulations and Law fields in the congress. Around sixty scientific papers will be presented in parallel sessions in the congress hosting CEO panels which will be attended by the general managers of non-Life, Life and Pension companies and the sessions with high-level participants from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Tarsim and SBM.
